An easy way to beat the winter blues is to stop by the 21 locations of the Ocean County Library. Not only do they provide the lastest books, music, movies, computers and Internet access, but they are also offer hundreds of free programs on a variety of topics.

Job seekers can visit the Toms River branch (101 Washington St.) January 4 for a program on resume writing and on January 11 for a program giving tips on what to do during a job interview. Both programs start at 6 p.m. Registration is required by calling 732-349-6200.

The Tuckerton branch (380 Bay Ave.) will partner with H&R Block for a special tax presentation and question-and-answer session on January 11, starting at 5 pm. Register for this program by calling 609-296-1470.

Celebrate the life, legacy and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lakewood branch (301 Lexington Ave.) on Monday January 18 for “New Jersey Orators: In Memory of Dr. King.” Please register for this program by calling the library at 732-363-1435.

Also celebrating Dr. King’s legacy will be the “I Have A Dream Storytime” at the Pt. Pleasant Beach branch (710 McLean Ave.) on February 8.

The Barnegat and Stafford branches are collaborating with a special concert celebrating the History of Motown on February 27 at 7 pm. This concert will be held at the St. Mary’s Parish Center in Manahawkin (179 South Main Street).

Fans of Michael Jackson can visit the Lacey branch (10 East Lacey Road, Forked River) on February 4 and the Manchester Branch (21 Colonial Drive) on February 5. Those branches feature the “Moonwalk to the Beat: A Tribute To Michael Jackson” tribute concert, featuring the songs of the King of Pop.

Award-winning blues musician Guy Davis will perform a special concert on the evening of February 22, 7 pm, at the Toms River branch. Davis’ thirteenth studio album Sweetheart Like You was released in 2009.
