Healthy Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!
Prosperous (as defined by Encarta Dictionary): financially successful and flourishing
One component essential to a prosperous or successful business is a business plan with a critical part of it being goal setting with strategic and tactical plans to achieve them, whether they be short, medium or long term. I know this not only through M.B.A. training but also by my marketing for the auto industry for 15 years, starting-up a measurement business for the PR industry and now co-founding and running my business. In today’s economic picture, it is most critical to have shortterm measures in place (daily, weekly, quarterly) depending on your business category. I mean measures of business performance e.g. sales, cold calls converted to sales, net profit etc. We all need to be able to turn on a dime. Turn what, you may say…that may be your sales efforts, promotions, advertising, your target market, employee structure, any and all factors which drive our businesses. We need to roll with the punches. For the last at least 15-20 years, the pundits have talked about ‘thinking outside the box’. Some of us have lived it, been trained for it or maybe have done the training. Now as I see it, there is no more box. Creativity is king or shall I say queen.
I turn now to recognition of achievement and our Awards Dinner where we will acknowledge members for their dedication to NJAWBO, business and the community. The Teal Heart is awarded to going above and beyond the service, more than just doing the job. One special member will be awarded with the Business Woman of the Year award. This Award honors a woman business owner who is a member and has distinguished herself in her business, NJAWBO, and in her community.
It is an inspirational meeting to attend and to meet these women who are celebrated for their talents and contributions. It will be at Basil T’s in Toms River on Jan. 28th at 6:00 PM.
